One-shot film planning

Today, my group (me, Donna, Cliff and Tom) had our first discussion on what to do for our one shot film. We decided on an idea which I thought was gonna be effective and would be simple to create. Also marks me getting two good ideas in a row :D

The dialogue has yet to be written, but we're giving it a try separately and are gonna put the best ideas together when we meet up again.

The basic idea of it starts with a closeup of a person's face in a spotlight with the slightly lit up faces of their friends/family.


The person talks about each one in turn as the camera slowly pans out. They describe what happened that made each person leave them / never talk to them again. Each person leaves into the darkness once the bit of dialogue about them is over. By the end of the shot, the camera is fully zoomed out, showing the isolation of the person since everyone's left them.


These are just preliminary ideas, obviously. We'll have further discussions about any changes that need to be made. I think the biggest problem is that it'd be preferable to have three people with the main person, since lists work best in threes, but then there's be no one to pan the camera out. I'm sure we'll be able to compromise something with that, tho'.
